Let Me Catch My Breath

Let me lie down and catch my breath,
For it is but a while I may feel at ease,
To touch the grass and climb the trees,
To inhale the air above that frees.

Let me sit here and catch my breath,
To hear the reading that calls to me,
To let things and people be,
To look to the hearts, so I may see.

Let me stand alone and catch my breath,
To know why and how I am here,
To live a full life without fear,
A single existence, never mere.

The rose shall bloom only for a while,
Near the end, love will turn to guile,
And before the frown, there was a smile,
But all is right, I had caught my breath.
