The Promised Land

Where I stand
Is here and now
By trees still green
‘Neath stormy skies
With hearts of peace
Near minds of war
In a cyber world
On a crowded street
In a frame of mind
Of a changing time.

Where I stand
Is how I feel
About love that’s lost
After words of heat
In misunderstandings
Amid narrow beliefs
Behind decisions rigid
Despite what’s right,
The promised land
Is where I stand.
