Symbolic Gestures

Smiles go unauthenticated,
Verbal offerings abated,
True intentions are vitriolic.
Spare me your gestures, symbolic.

Clamors for peace and economy
Amid bombs and dichotomy.
Days of war, yet time to frolic.
Spare me your gestures, symbolic.

Another workday shall resume
For the fraction that most consume,
Broadcasting in hyperbolic,
Spare me your gestures, symbolic.
