Ambient Lessons

Summer, school lot empty of students,
Now vacationers reveling. Driving lesson
In session. Two sisters in attendance
In a maroon Acura set to Gymnopedie,
The melancholy piece of Erik Satie.
Old car, tape deck, written in three
Quarter time, recorded over and over
On a loop. Gears, pedals, bars, chords
Defying tradition. The wheel turning painfully
Upon itself to the atmosphere, breathing
Sadness in the closed compartment hidden
From the sun, ambient notes strike beauty
On the stifled air as turn signals blink
Rhetorically, brakes depressed to avoid
Collisions with invisible cars. A dozen times
To park perfectly between yellow lines. Weaving
Gently to the quiet notes like a heart beating
Then gaining speed like a heart bleeding.

  1. Hi!
Do lessons really come from surrounding thoughts without actually being a part of it? with me, I need to actually experience something like that for me to have answers to questions that are like made in your poem here. All I know is that there needs to be someone else there to talk with in order to have questions like those in your poems. Thanks so much for really giving me additional tips on ambient lessons. Hope to see you at my blog which is It has a lot of variety in it & picking from it gives you insight at that time. Have a great day see you very soon!

Thanks Rodney! Where experience is the teacher in the classroom, deep thought is the correspondence/online course. I thank you for intersecting our blogs. I anticipate a visit soon!

Fortunately, if you study the facts about bodybuilding, you will be
able to tell when someone is full of it and when someone
truly knows what he’s talking about. With all the hustle and bustle of daily life, sometimes it can seem almost impossible to get the body and mind kicked into low gear at the end of the day so we can get to sleep.
