Gather Your Hopes

Gather your hopes and bring your gun.
A war is waging ‘neath the sun
Betwixt rivals of wrong and wrong.
Triggers in leash, it won’t be long
’Til we summon Armageddon.

On lands, people, ideals we shun,
Using munitions by the ton.
Our anthem, a dirge of a song,
Gather your hopes.

When all is said, over and done,
Bodies tallied, yet no one’s won
Not even at world-wide ping pong.
Upon the ground, the bloody throng,
Lie death, accordance, no more fun,
Gather your hopes.
