I Know Not the Solitude of Mind

That a thought can attempt
To run the mile and reach
The finish line. No thought
Can compete nor complete,
As another, stifling thought
Is trailing, yelling, shouting
That something is near, some
One is coming – it is not safe.
So the solitude is shattered.
Sure enough, on sundry days
It hits the floor and I am left
Incomplete, picking glass
From my soul, bleeding anger.
