“If more politicians knew poetry, and more poets knew politics, I am convinced the world would be a little better place in which to live.” – John F. Kennedy, 1956

His words echoed today in Dallas by author and historian David McCullough at the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President Kennedy.

Strike with words
To flicker hearts
And rumble minds
For the rain of hope,
And be happy today
That you are a poet
And fear not the day
You are a politician
With poet parts.

Gorgeous photo! And I loved the “You are a politician
    With poet parts.” part!

Thank you Selena! I think more of us out here should get involved in politics, it would change the world for the better, and fearfully and inevitably, a few of us would be changed, where our poet parts become altered or defunct.

It still sounds pretty scary. :/ Great piece Shainbird. 🙂

Thank you Sahm. It can get risky. There are a few who have not had their poet parts blown off after treading upon the minefield of politics. You are already walking the fine line, my friend, and doing a great job!

Type me what you think.
